Wow! We finished our first community day, and I am so excited for what lies ahead! GREAT JOB! I was so impressed with everyone today. We can’t wait to have Elizabeth with us next week! : )

  • 20 m. vocab (chart and/or flashcards), 20 m. exercises, 20 m. grammar (copying the grammar rules into their binders) = 60 minutes per day of Latin work

  • *It will be challenging to complete the assigned exercises in 20 minutes per day.

  • Do as much as you can and do not stress if not all of the exercises get done.

  • Latin with Andy has Henle Vocab on You Tube (free)

  • *References to Mary: We discussed that Henle was writing for a Catholic audience of students in the 1950’s, and thus includes many references to Mary in the text and exercises. These students would also have been raised in an environment with some Latin familiarity (Catholic mass included Latin), and Henle assumes some of this familiarity in his writing.

  • Research Topic: Astronomy

  • Choose a topic, find two (or more) sources, create a KWO for each, fuse them and write your essay (as many paragraphs as you choose), illustrate and prepare to present to class.

  • Remember to use your IEW writing skills!

  • **Sources can be kept simple and limited to what you have in your home.

  • Include a bibliography, using APA formatting (see handout for formatting instructions).

  • Next week in class: Each student will present their paper and illustration.
