Week 19 (S2W4)

See you tomorrow evening for the Science Fair! Please arrive by 6:15 to get situated. We will begin presentations at 6:30, with families dismissed to enjoy desserts/appetizers (please bring something to share for our reception : ) while Mr. Costanza interviews the students and evaluates projects. *The evaluation form is in the Guide Research Appendix. Blue ribbons will be awarded for scores >90%, red ribbons for >80%, white ribbons for >70%. There will also be recognition of an “Overall Best” (additional purple ribbon) for the student with the highest score on their project.
We had a busy day today with the Foundations presentations - it was such a blessing to have the opportunity to share with your classes (they were all amazingly great audiences!!).
Human Anatomy is underway! We had a great introduction to the Respiratory System - I strongly encourage students to be curious and enjoy finding out more about each of our systems of study! Resource ideas in the Human Anatomy email. Khan Academy is a great free option!
Character Journal - Endurance (Romans 5:3-5)
We defined endurance as not giving up!
Suffering produces perseverance, which produces character - the blessing of doing hard things.
Considering our circumstances (this can be a hard time of the year for homeschooling), let’s decide to endure and bring our best to our work : )
We are continuing our math regime with our Multiplication Wheel warm ups, soduko game, and 5 CT Math Problem.

Exercises 139 and 140 = 4 sentences to translate per day.
We are finishing up Asia with the Southeastern countries this week.
We have the next two weeks to review and get Asia down.
We learned some interesting features about these countries in class today by dividing them up and finding information in geography books.

We introduced the Respiratory System in class today! Students will be completing their terms and practicing drawing the Respiratory System in their Anatomy Journals.

We will be completing Chapters 9-12 in class next week.
LTW: Invention [ANI Charts]
Students will be determining their Door in the Wall issue and create their ANI chart using their tools of Invention (See LTW Toolbox)
