Week 23 (S2W8)

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
— Proverbs 17:22

Welcome back from break! We had a great day today with extra time invested in Latin. We discussed the upcoming National Latin Exam and walked through the syllabus to encourage everyone that we have studied most of the covered topics! We are taking the exam for the experience, not for the score, but we should be reasonably prepared to take it based on our study so far this year.

Playlist:

  • I have been considering powerful true story movies to tie into our Africa study - my list of possibilities includes: The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (Netflix), Queen of Katwe, Invictus, Mandela, The 1st Grader, Amistad, Amazing Grace (2006), Hotel Rwanda. [Plenty of gut wrenching history in this list.] I’m going to be considering what we need to see and encourage you to ponder the opportunity with our study as well! We recently watched Mully (excellent).
