Week 11

The object of education is to teach us to love what is beautiful.
— Plato

*Note: Somehow I deleted the Week 10 post…sorry! Let me know if you think you need something from last week.

Humility

Lizzie shared scriptures for us to read today around the topic of humility. I was easily able to articulate at our conclusion to each one of them how they blessed our class with their sweet spirit - how fortunate we are to enjoy each other’s company as we work together. How rarely we hear voices straining to prove themselves, defend ground, make excuses or wrangle for me-first. Let us continue to pray for the unity of our class and community, for our hearts in class to take a humble position, eager to learn and serve each other. I am tremendously grateful to be in their company each week as we take up what the Lord puts before us!

  • READ: It is not too late to change your topic! But after this week, it will be!

  • Today we practiced writing procedures by detailing the process for making an ice cream sundae, and then taking turns using each student's instructions to make one! (ie, we won’t soon forget that “Put toppings on ice cream” needs to be more specific in order to avoid a the can of whipped cream being placed on top of the ice cream scoop rather than sprayed!)

    • Research Question (formalize your Research Problem > Lab Journal page > Research Plan section)
