Week 10
“You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him discover it in himself. ”
Science Fair Kicks Off!
We will be learning about ourselves, truth and God through the process of our project. It is going to be really exciting to see what our students study during Science Fair. Each project will reflect the unique strengths of each student!
Please check in with your student to discuss their ideas about Science Fair project and help them identify their Research Problem for this week, as well as see how they are setting up their Lab Journal (hooray!). They will also begin typing their Research Plan (adding their Research problem to it as the first section).
A few great resources for selecting a question to explore with their project include Science Buddies, or this Science Fair Ideas sheet.
The Research Appendix of the Guide is also a vital resource.
Each week I will be sharing the assignment page from this Science Fair Overview (you are free to print it in its entirety - I distributed only this week’s pages to avoid overwhelm.).
We enjoyed watching this Nat Geo Science Fair documentary (for rent on Prime), and seeing how students all over the world are impacting the field of science and engineering with their incredible projects.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give me a call this week!
