Week 25 (S2W10)

For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
— I Corinthians 2:16

We had a very productive day here today, including the National Latin Exam (I do not know when results are published, but will keep everyone posted!). We also completed a dry run of the year’s Latin vocab (I would strongly encourage diligent study of the list, from Lesson 15 backward. Vocab Key is here, blank Blue Book version here.). Claudia has hers in page protectors, that she has been using to copy the definitions for review.

In our anatomy study, we reflected on the brain’s capacity for memory; our brains store information differently based on the channel it is received (auditory, visual, etc.). Images imprinted on our brains cannot be erased! We discussed how significant it is that we can never “un-see” something we have seen, and the weight of choosing what we watch/click/scroll. (“Do I want this image stored in my brain permanently?”). God is endowed with the ability to selectively forget (thankfully), but it is a function he did not design into our earthly brains. Our scriptures focused on what God emphasizes we should use our brains to remember ~ what He has done, who He is, His word, what Jesus said/taught us to do, and the remembering that is centered on communion. It was a good discussion!

Only 5 weeks remain, 4 weeks of class and Blue Book! Let’s encourage our students to continue working hard for a strong finish!
