Week 26 (S2W11)
“Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. ”
Wow, everyone did a great job participating online for class today! I was very pleasantly surprised at how much we accomplished together (woot, woot!). I think we were able to get the hang of this. Plan for next week, 10:30-2:00ish again. It went just a little longer than I thought, but we took a nice lunch/social break and were able to cover our bases pretty well in 3.5 hours. Our meeting is recurring, so the same link from today will work every week (you are welcome to bookmark it!). I will send it out each week as well.
Couple of things to remember:
Please keep your camera on during our discussions : ) and mute yourself when you are not speaking (we did pretty well with this today!).
No browsing, etc. during class time
Keep chat comments on topic for class
Weekly Social
It was agreed that a regular social online space would be a welcome break during this season of Coronavirus, so I have set up a recurring weekly online meeting here for Wednesdays, 3:00-4:30 (password: friends) for them to connect and chat, knit, play a game, etc. If you decide to join, please keep them in a space not interrupted by siblings/background noise so that it doesn’t become chaotic and frustrating.

Anatomy Scriptures: Eyes/Seeing
Luke 11:33 No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.
Psalm 101:3 I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.
I Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lordsees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
2 Kings 6:17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Proverbs 20:12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.
Proverbs 21:4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.
Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
Psalms 119:37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
